The Syria series

This forthcoming seminar series aims to provide the latest data and critical insights from those working on the Syria crisis as policy-makers, politicians, journalists and humanitarian officials. The first seminar will be given by Martin Chulov – the Guardian’s award winning Middle East Correspondent.

Syria: where to now?

Martin who covers the Middle East for the Guardian, won the Orwell prize for journalism in 2015. He has reported and lived in the region for the past decade writing for the Guardian in Iraq (2008-2010) and now currently in Beirut. Between 2005-2008 he was the Middle East correspondent for the Australian (Australia’s national newspaper) where he won numerous national awards.

In this timely and topical seminar, he will discuss his experiences reporting on the conflict in Syria, Iraq and the rise of the Islamic State. The talk will address the current state of affairs and consider future possibilities and scenarios for regional and foreign governments.
