Abstract
The Cambridge Cancer Centre has established an Early Detection programme as a key priority and it is with great pleasure that we announce the launch of this programme. Dr Harpal Kumar, CEO of Cancer Research UK, will speak about the importance of early detection for Cancer Research UK and Professor Sir Peter Gregson (Vice Chancellor, Cranfield University) will address the audience about the importance of cross-disciplinary research, as well as his own personal experience of an early cancer diagnosis. Newly funded early detection research projects will also be presented. Professor Sir Leszek Borysiewicz, Vice Chancellor, University of Cambridge, will deliver the concluding remarks. The event starts 3pm with tea/coffee and a drinks reception will follow the talks, around 6pm.
