Abstract
There is a growing body of evidence to support the beneficial impacts of a relationship with a pet animal, both physically and psychologically. However, most work to date has focused on either younger children or on students with more educational needs, and has been approached through the eyes of their parents, guardians and teachers. This study used a modified form of the CENSHARE Pet Attachment Survey to evaluate how important pets were to students at Moulton College and the University of Northampton, exploring how this related to aspects such as the species of pet, area of study of the student and whether they had a disability.
