If you have a question about this talk, please contact Himantha Cooray .

In Buddhism, suffering is ended by realizing the non-self nature. This realization is obstructed by the delusions that a self exists. There are three such delusions in an unenlightened being: perception of a self, thought of a self and view of a self. The talk will centre on these three delusions (known as Vipallasa in Pali) and recommend a way of practice to shatter the illusive view of self (Ditthi Vipallasa) as the first path of practice.

The talk is part of a special “Meditation Evening” beginning at 17:00. The talk will be followed by a discussion and a guided meditation session. You are welcome to take part in the whole event or just come for the talk. The full event programme is as follows:

  • 17:00 Welcome and short chanting
  • 17:15 Talk by Ven. Kovido on “Fear and Attachment”
  • 18:00 Questions and discussion
  • 18:30 Guided meditation
