Abstract
Since 1961 plant ecologists and engineers at Sheffield University have been using field surveys, trait screening and ecosystem manipulations to investigate the assembly and functioning of plant communities. This talk will review progress in this adventure placing a particular focus on international collaborations at the Buxton Hub within the Health and Safety Laboratory in North Derbyshire.
