Galaxy assembly in 2<z<6.5 from the VUDS survey

Abstract
The main processes driving galaxy assembly from the end of reionization (z=6) to the peak of star formation activity (z=2) still remain poorly constrained by observations. The VIMOS Ultra Deep Survey assembles for the first time ~8000 star-forming galaxies with spectroscopic redshifts and UV-rest spectra in the redshift range 2 < z < 6.5. I will present the latest results from this survey, including the analysis of galaxy ages and sizes, Lyman-alpha emission, merging history, and the onset of environmental effects in the first proto-structures.
