Abstract
This lecture explores questions about the ideological impact of the British rule in India and how it had been translated across visual representations of cultural conflicts and racial hierarchies. A particular focus is put on comparing first person visual narratives, i.e. colonial amateur films, with commercial and propaganda productions.
