Abstract
In humanitarian disasters the simplest things can be expensive and hard to get. Supplies are flown in, cleared by customs, stockpiled and distributed by many organisations. Bottlenecks abound, costs rise, delays increase. Could these challenges be reduced by making certain supplies locally using 3D printing? What might be the opportunities and the dangers? Join the Centre for Global Equality, MakeSpace and Field Ready at the Cambridge Science Festival for a discussion and some hands-on experience.
