Communication with Artificial Intelligences
- đ¤ Speaker: Prof. Ann Copestake - University of Cambridge, Computer Laboratory.

- đ Venue: Lecture Theatre 1, Computer Laboratory
Abstract
As computational systems become more intelligent, should we expect that improved ability to communicate with humans will follow naturally? I argue here that real communicative ability cannot be regarded as an optional `bolt-on’ and that we have to start to regard it as an essential property of intelligent systems.
(Many thanks to Ann for volunteering to give this seminar at short notice. It is based on a presentation at CiE last year.)
