Abstract
George Gömöri, poet, Emeritus Fellow of Darwin College, taught Polish and Hungarian Literature for over thirty years in Cambridge. As a fourth-year student at ELTE , Budapest he was one of the key figures who organised the student march on October 23rd, 1956,which lead to the historical event known as the Hungarian Revolution.
