Abstract
It is often necessary to incorporate uncertainty in the decision-making process to make optimal or near-optimal decisions. However, the computations that underlie the decision-making process and formulation of uncertainty are unclear. In this talk, I will cover recent theories and experiments in perceptual decision-making. First, I will review definitions of uncertainty and confidence. Then, I will briefly overview common models of the perceptual decision-making process. Finally, in the rest of the talk I will cover a series of recent experimental results investigating the representation of uncertainty in the human brain and the correspondence between models of perceptual decision-making and human behavior.
Series This talk is part of the Computational Neuroscience series.
