Abstract
Solid handling is an important issue in flow chemistry and represents a special challenge in micro reactors, which are readily subject to clogging due to their reduced size. Here, we investigate solid formation under laminar flow in a microfluidics geometry following a Buchwald-Hartwig amination reaction. Particulate morphology changes in a flow-dependent manner going from rosettes of needle-like crystals to more compact structures. Clogging time was also found to depend on the applied flow rate.
