Abstract
The transverse momentum distribution of Higgs bosons is a sensitive probe of new physics in the Higgs sector. It is also exceedingly difficult to determine accurately in perturbative QCD because its computation involves four different scales – the top, bottom, and higgs masses on top of the transverse momentum itself. After a brief review of this important observable, I will present recent results obtained in the limit in which the center-of-mass energy is very high, exploiting a new resummation results which I recently derived. I will show in particular that for transverse momenta of the order of the top mass or higher an effective field theory approach in which heavy quark masses effects are neglected fails completely, and present an optimal approximation constructed by exploting information from resummation.
