Abstract
The importance of teaching computing in primary schools is well publicised. Perhaps less well known is the opportunity for professional engineers and programmers to support this effort in significant ways. Not only can this support complement existing efforts and expertise within schools, additionally it can be a hugely rewarding experience for the engineer. The purpose of this talk is to illustrate how this interaction can successfully happen, and hopefully to inspire some attendees on the way.
Philip Golden is a hardware engineer who graduated from Stanford University in 2005. His interests include teaching kids to code and promoting computing in schools.
