Abstract
The energy landscape of a protein contains all the information required to understand its structure, thermodynamics and kinetics. Upon mutation of the sequence, the energy landscape will change, and so will the observed properties of the system. The example considered in this talk is a coiled coil, which has been shown to adopt different crystal structures after a single point mutation occurs.[1] Using the computational potential energy landscape framework it is possible to understand these changes caused by the point mutation.
