Abstract
The session will consist of a Tech Talk introducing the concepts behind data processing at Google scale, fundamentals of MapReduce, Dataflow platforms, real time data processing, and how our internal cloud allows us to process Petabytes of data extremely fast. The Tech Talk will will be followed by an Interview Workshop where participants will be walked through the interview process, as well as sample questions, common mistakes, and helpful strategies for approaching coding interviews at Google.
Speaker bio:
Lewis Hemens graduated from Cambridge where he studied Computer Science. He has been at Google since 2010 and is currently the Tech Lead Manager of the Publisher Optimization Team at Google in London. His areas of expertise include Data processing and Display Advertising. In his six years at Google he has worked across front-end and back-end teams, from GWT to JavaScript, Java and C++.
