Abstract
We live in a continuous world, with so many photons entering our eyes each second that it’s not an unreasonable approximation to pretend they’re infinite. Despite this, display and rendering technology continues to lag behind the abilities of the human eye, with finite numbers of discrete pixels updating to display discrete frames. In this talk, we shall explore several methods employed to work around these limitiations in order to make use of the technology we do have today. This will range over both traditional solutions, and more recently developed ones exploiting quirks of human vision.
