Lattice QCD and Flavor-Changing Neutral Currents

Abstract
Several tensions between experimental measurements and the Standard Model have been reported, at least in the quark-flavor sector. Should these discrepancies mature into significant discrepancies, they would be evidence for new physics. In this talk, I discuss several lattice-QCD calculations (from the Fermilab Lattice and MILC Collaborations) that go into the Standard-Model predictions for flavor-changing neutral currents: particle-antiparticle mixing in $B$ and $B_s$ mesons and semileptonic $B$ decays mediated (in the SM) by penguins.
