Abstract
Simon Neale will lead a talk and meditation session titled “Hindrances to Meditation”. According to the Buddhist teachings, mental states that hinder the meditation practice can be classified into five categories: sensory desire, ill-will, sloth-torpor, restlessness-worry and doubt. Simon will introduce these hindrances and explain how we can deal with them as they arise and even use them as objects of meditation. He will also guide practical meditation sessions in which we will work on different hindrances and develop the practice.
Simon is an experienced meditator with over 30 years of experience.
Series This talk is part of the Buddhist Society Talks series.
