Abstract
David Molony CEng is an Independent Engineering Consultant. He was formerly the technical lead at TAP Biosystems ( http://www.tapbiosystems.com ) based in Royston who are the world leaders in R&D fermentation and bioprocess technology.
His talk will provide an introduction to the principles and the detailed design and engineering of equipment to analyse biological samples, the need for the development and why there was a need to make a bioanalyser when there are already some on the market.
The talk will explain the need to close the loop on bioprocess acidity control.
There will be a insight into pH instrumentation and some new mathematical models of pH electrode processes, beyond the traditional Nernstian analyses. Results will be presented with comparison to theoretical limits and comment on the importance of up front checking of expectations and desires against reality ahead of proceeding with development.
