Abstract
This seminar aims to highlight how plant science academics can work with industry.
Professor Beverley Glover will highlight her research in floral development and how she has worked with industry.
Richard Boyle and Colum Donnelly from MM Flowers will discuss the cut flower business, their scientific challenges and solutions.
MM Flowers was established in 2007 to provide the leading UK retailers with a transparent, sustainable and innovative interface between the retailer & grower. MM Flowers (part of the AMC Group) has grown into the UKās leading, integrated, cut flower organisation and is part of the worldās most sustainable cut flower business; sourcing flowers from both grower-shareholders and other advanced cut flower growing operations around the world. MM Flowers have invested in Ā£31m in a state of the art packing and distri- bution facility in the UK that ensures that all the care in growing and shipping the worldās best flowers is maintained through receipt, packing and distribution of the finished bouquets. MM Flowers and itās grow- er partners have invested extensively in scientific development to provide solutions and drive positive changes from farm to vase.
