Abstract
OpenGL has existed since the early 1990s as the only truly cross-platform graphics API . Widely used in visualisation, CAD , and multi-platform video games, it has become an essential tool for creating real-time graphics applications. This talk aims to broadly explain what OpenGL does, how it does it, and how it should (and shouldn’t) be used. It will also touch briefly on Vulkan, OpenGL’s modern, lower-level sibling.
Series This talk is part of the Churchill CompSci Talks series.
