Abstract
An international team of scientists is currently at sea on board the R/V Atlantis, exploring the Pito Deep. This is a point at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean where tectonic plates have exposed a cross section of lower ocean crust. Using remotely operated and autonomous underwater vehicles we will collect rock samples, map the seafloor magnetic field, and search for hydrothermal vents. Experience the expedition through a live ship to shore webcast; an interactive, virtual field trip that lets you tour the ship, see the robots in action, and ask questions directly to the scientists onboard.
