Abstract
Geoffrey Myers is Director of Competition Economics at Ofcom (https://www.ofcom.org.uk/) and Visiting Professor in the Department of Government at LSE . He has been an economist in competition and regulatory analysis for twenty-five years, working on a wide range of issues including market reviews, competition investigations, regulatory disputes, and design of spectrum auctions. Prior to Ofcom, he worked at the Office of Fair Trading, Oftel and the Jamaican Office of Utilities Regulation.
Geoffrey will be talking about promoting competition in mobile markets through spectrum allocation decisions in the context of the evolution of mobile technology over time, including the so-called 3G and 4G radio-spectrum auctions in 2000 and 2013.
