Abstract
Since their discovery, antibodies have played a major role in research and medicine. Many antibodies are used for therapeutic purposes and they are a main area of interest for researchers. Traditionally, there have been two main approaches for the generation of these antibodies. One of them is the in vivo production by animal immunisation. The other one, phage display, accounts for the main in vitro technique. I will present an alternative in vitro technique that harnesses the properties of hypermutating B cell lines. I will explain how this B cells can be modified for the efficient generation of different types of antibodies. Also, I will be talking about the advantages of using this new technique over the traditional ones.
