Abstract
With more and more companies working on self-driving cars, the importance of good quality pedestrian recognition has increased. The talk will focus on the basics of feature detection and description in images. We will also summarise a few key algorithms that have provided recent breakthroughs in this field. Finally, along with a live demo, we will visit the Histogram of Gradients algorithm more in-depth, focusing on the pedestrian recognition use-case.
