Abstract
Most models of selection assume very simple demographies, which often fail to capture the complexity in the real world. Structured populations are the norm in most organisms, and the level of structure greatly affects how localised selection is. The effect of structure can also affect diseases, as well as the selective response to the hose. In this talk, Iโll discuss work on modelling realistic demographic history that can be used to study localised selection, with the specific example of diseases as drivers.
