Solving Reproducibility: Cross-pollination between Biochemical sciences and Computer Sciences

Abstract
The capacity of research to produce scientific advancements and impact society is reduced by a glut of irreproducible experiments. In US biological sciences alone, irreproducible research is a $28 billion/year problem. While Computer Sciences have developed a number of tools in recent years to combat this irreproducibility until recently it has been impossible to use them for biological and chemical sciences research. This talk will give an overview of the potential of automation in biological and chemical sciences, and how CS researchers can improve the impact of their work by integrating digital technologies into automated biochemical workflows.
