Abstract
Biomaker Challenge is a four-month programme challenging interdisciplinary teams to build low-cost sensors and instruments for biology. From colorimeters to microfluidics and beyond, weโre looking for frugal, open source and DIY approaches to biological experiments. Youโll receive up to ยฃ1000 support, including a BioMaker toolkit and no prior experience with hardware or electronics is necessary to participate. This talk from Prof Jim Haseloff and Dr Jenny Molloy will introduce the Challenge for biologists and present example prototypes for inspiration. One audience member will win a free Arduino microcontroller to get started early.
