Abstract
The University of Cambridge was founded in the 13th Century by refugees from the “Other Place”. The origins reflected the continuing battle between “Town and Gown”. In the intervening period, between foundation and present, members of the University were also heavily involved in matters of State. The talk will give a brief outline of affairs over 800 years.
