Abstract
In the elections held on 3rd May 2007, e-counting and e-voting systems were deployed in 10 English councils and throughout Scotland. Volunteers for the Open Rights Group observed these pilots and discovered serious procedural, technical and usability errors in all areas.
This talk describes my experiences as an accredited election observer and summarizes the findings of the resulting report which concludes that βthe Open Rights Group cannot express confidence in the results for areas observed”.
Series This talk is part of the Computer Laboratory Security Group meeting presentations series.
