What every researcher should know about software development
- đ¤ Speaker: Chris Richardson, BP Institute

Abstract
Software development is more than just programming. We need to think a bit more widely about the lifetime of our code, how we plan a project, and the way we interact with other people.
- Can we make it easier for others to join a project?
- Is the code maintainable for years to come?
- How can we distribute it?
Many of these points are highly relevant to commercial software, but have often been ignored by academics. In this interactive and informal seminar, I intend to address some of these issues.
