Abstract
This is joint work with S. Donkin. The Specht modules are key players in the representation theory of the symmetric groups. If the characteristic of the field is different than 2, it is well-known that they are indecomposable. In characteristic 2 there exist decomposable Specht modules but only a few families of such modules have been discovered. In this talk I will present some new families of decomposable Specht modules and describe their indecomposable summands.
