Abstract
What’s new in FlyBase I will present an overview of new features and tools in FlyBase, with the aim of promoting their utility to researchers. Recent additions include: report pages for functionally related genes and Drosophila models of human disease, improved orthology data, short summaries (‘snapshots’) of gene function, and the JBrowse genome browser. The upcoming “FlyBase 2.0” release will contain several more enhancements, including: new graphical summaries of functional data, protein domain visualization, and faceted searching/hit-list management. I will also give a brief introduction to the Gene2Function website and (upcoming) Alliance of Genome Resources website, which both integrate data from multiple model organisms and humans. FlyBase curators will be available after the talk to give demos and answer specific queries.
