Abstract
Atomic impurities in diamonds not only give diamonds their colours, they also obey the rules of quantum mechanics. They have thus been proposed as a building block to design new technologies relying on the laws of quantum mechanics to enhance current capabilities in computing and sensing. In this talk, I will introduce such impurities, their basic properties, as well as some of their quantum applications. (No prior knowledge of quantum mechanics is necessary)
