Abstract
Neutrino oscillation physics is very successful in the last 20 years. Now, our understanding of the Neutrino Standard Model (nuSM) is very matured, and there are world wide effort to measure last missing pieces of nuSM. On the other hand, neutrino oscillation itself can be a tool to look for new physics beyond the nuSM, because neutrino oscillation is a natural interferometer and sensitive to tiny effects of nature. Among them, search of violation of Lorentz invariance is an active field in quantum gravity phenomenology community.
In this talk, I will introduce Lorentz violation and Lorentz violating neutrino oscillations. Then I examine the limits of new physics from atmospheric neutrino oscillation data. Finally, I will show a future prospective of the best new physics tests in the neutrino sector through the astrophysical very-high-energy neutrino favor data from IceCube.
