Albatrosses are the most threatened group of seabirds. Among these is the Grey-headed albatross (Thalassarche chrysostoma) which is listed as endangered on the IUCN Red List. With the advent of tracking technologies, scientists can gain much needed insight into the year-round distribution of seabirds and consequently how vulnerable they are to various anthropogenic threats, thus aiding their conservation. This talk will therefore consist of some exciting results from two chapters of my PhD showing where grey-headed albatrosses go during both the breeding and non-breeding seasons.
