Abstract
In equivariant homotopy theory there are some phenomena that exist not just for a specific group but rather for a family of groups. An instance of these are certain equivariant cohomology theories: K-theory, cobordism, cohomotopy groups etc… The idea of global stable homotopy theory is to study these equivariant phenomena simultaneously without choosing a specific group. There are many way to formalize this idea, in this talk we will describe Schwede’s approach via orthogonal spectra.
