Abstract
When it comes to the study (and quantification) of the speed of relaxation toward equilibrium of dynamics that are, in a sense, degenerated (hypoelliptic diffusions, piecewise deterministic processes…), a few classical methods do no apply. I will present some developpments of the hypocoercive method of modified entropy, popularized by Villani. In particular we will see how, by clarifying entropy dissipation computations, one may obtain sharp dependency of the rate of convergence with respect to some parameters of the problem (temperature for annealing algorithms, number of particle for mean-field models, etc.).
