Abstract
In recent years there has been an enormous increase in the number of medieval coins being found in Britain, mostly with metal detectors. The Fitzwilliam Museum’s EMC (Early Medieval Corpus) is an online record of these finds, which has become an important resource for archaeologists and historians. Coin finds can used to explore many aspects of our medieval past.
