Abstract
Peter Capaldiās transformation from Malcolm Tucker into the Doctor, was every bit as profound as the Doctorās own regeneration. However, swapping televisionās finest satire for televisionās finest sci-fi did not entail ditching politics. Science fiction from Mary Shelley to Octavia E. Butler, has always reflected contemporary concerns. This talk situates Peter Capaldiās adventures in time and space in the context of the War on Terror considering the ways in which Capaldiās stories have explored the dehumanising effects of ānon-linearā and āhybrid warfareā, in the search of impossible peace.
