Abstract
Active working fluids lead to the possibility of “boundary-driven cycles”, where work could be extracted by tweaking the details of the confining trap (stiffness, trap position etc) cyclically in parameter space – even at single reservoir temperature. I will discuss some properties of these active engines, using ABPs confined by harmonic walls as a specific worked example.
