We are delighted to announce Diane Coyle as the second speaker of this term. She is a Professor at the Department of Politics and International Studies (University of Cambridge) and co-directs the Bennett Institute for Public Policy.

ABSTRACT In this session, Coyle will present her past and present findings on the political, economic and social dimensions of the digital economy. Afterwards, we will have a discussion and she is eager to hear about what students and researchers at other departments (e.g. Sociology) are working on.

BIO Professor Coyle is one of the leading scholars worldwide in her research on the new digital markets that have emerged. She has also held a number of public service roles including Vice Chair of the BBC Trust (2006-2014), member of the Competition Commission (2001-2009), the Migration Advisory Committee (2009-2014), and the Natural Capital Committee (2016-2019). She was awarded a CBE for her contribution to the public understanding of economics in the 2018 New Year Honours.
