Hunting for new particles with ATLAS at the Large Hadron Collider
- π€ Speaker: Ben Hodkinson, Experimental High Energy Physics

- π Venue: King Richard Room, Darwin College
Abstract
ATLAS is a particle physics experiment at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN - the worldβs largest and most powerful particle accelerator. Its goal is to answer questions such as: What are the basic building blocks of the universe? What is dark matter? In this seminar I will give an overview of these fundamental questions, and how we seek answers to them by using data from ATLAS to search for new particles.
