Abstract
Mathematics anxiety is an increasingly recognised problem, prevalent in young people learning mathematics and also prevalent amongst the teachers, support staff, parents and carers who are close to young people. Anxiety can be emotionally contagious and therefore, for many decades, there have been calls to address mathematics anxiety.
For several years, Sue Johnston-Wilder and Clare Lee have taken an approach informed by literature on trauma and adverse childhood experiences. In this seminar, Sue will introduce their approach, their 4 tools and the coaching programme they have developed and then open up a discussion.
