Abstract
Thanks to ALMA and JWST , the study of molecules from clouds to disks is undergoing a revolution: the chemistry of water and more complex molecules can now be traced through the various evolutionary stages on solar system scales. At the same time, fascinating spatial and kinematic structures in dust and gas point to planet formation in action. This talk will present an overview of some recent results by our group on observations and models of molecules in disks, with implications for the material (e.g., C/O) out of which planets are built. Dust traps play a key role in the re-distribution of material from the outer to the inner planet-building zones of disks. Some first results from JWST will be presented.
