Abstract
Canon John Fitch will present his recent publication Anglican Eirenicon: The Concept of Churchmanship and the Quest for Christian Unity. Written with a life-time’s worth of experience, this is a thoughtful and good-humoured attempt to analyse and to bridge the divisions within the modern Church.
Born in 1922, John Fitch read History and Theology at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge. After preparing for ordination at Wells Theological College in Somerset, he served for forty years in various Suffolk parishes, retiring in 1987. He was appointed Canon of St Edmundsbury in 1975 and was co-founder of the Suffolk Historic Churches Trust.
Following the talk the author will be available to sign copies of his book and drinks will be served.
