Abstract
How does the brain develop? This talk will introduce the advantages of the zebrafish retina as our chosen model to address this question. Using functional gene manipulations and live 4D imaging, we have begun to unravel mechanisms involved in this highly dynamic process. The talk focuses on the movements and divisions of progenitors and the final severance of attachments that allows immature cells to assume their final neural morphology.
Series This talk is part of the SBR Graduate Talks series.
