An evening of poetry featuring works by three poets: Robert Hayden, American Poet Laureate and scholar of Black history and folklore, Mahvash Sabet, winner of the PEN Pinter Prize and International Writer of Courage, and Táhirih, 19th century Persian poetess and fearless champion of women’s emancipation. The poems of Táhirih were researched and published by Cambridge Professor and Pembroke College scholar Edward Granville Browne (1862-1926).

Short biographies will precede the poetry readings and there will also be time to discuss, reflect and mingle after the readings.
