Abstract
Technology developed for mental health settings sually aims to replace clinicians and therapists in order to reduce pressure on mental health services. Yet, human support is one of the main factors in successful outcomes. This seminar will look at ways that technology can support mental health without reducing the human element by enhancing natural support networks and the therapist relationship.
We will present several initial models and ask the audience to carry out a number of activities to help us develop them further. This seminar should be of interest to any one in healthcare, inclusive design, or technology.
Series This talk is part of the Engineering Design Centre series.
